Combinant des batteries au lithium et des batteries au zinc de plus longue dur\u00e9e, l\u2019installation alimentera les centres de donn\u00e9es du groupe technologique en \u00e9nergie propre, 24 heures sur 24.<\/li>\n<li>Construite par le d\u00e9veloppeur MN8 Energy, la centrale comprendra une capacit\u00e9 solaire de 86 m\u00e9gawatts, des batteries lithium-fer-phosphate offrant 280 m\u00e9gawattheures de stockage \u00e0 court terme et des batteries au zinc d\u2019Eos Energy d\u2019une capacit\u00e9 de 100 MWh, capables de fournir de l\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 pendant au moins dix heures durant la nuit.<\/li>\n<li>Le site sera raccord\u00e9 au principal r\u00e9seau \u00e9lectrique de la c\u00f4te est des \u00c9tats-Unis lors de son ach\u00e8vement complet, pr\u00e9vu en 2030. Google ach\u00e8tera l\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 produite par le projet pendant les vingt ann\u00e9es suivantes.<\/li>\n<li>Aux \u00c9tats-Unis, l\u2019opinion publique \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9gard des centres de donn\u00e9es est particuli\u00e8rement d\u00e9favorable. Selon Gallup, 70 % des Am\u00e9ricains s\u2019opposent \u00e0 la construction de ces infrastructures massives \u00e0 proximit\u00e9 de leur domicile, en raison de leur incidence sur les factures d\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9, leur consommation d\u2019eau et les nuisances sonores.<\/li>\n<li>Cette strat\u00e9gie r\u00e9pond vraisemblablement avant tout \u00e0 des imp\u00e9ratifs de rapidit\u00e9 et de rentabilit\u00e9. Face \u00e0 l\u2019envol\u00e9e de la demande d\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 aux \u00c9tats-Unis, le solaire constitue actuellement l\u2019une des solutions les plus rapides pour ajouter de nouvelles capacit\u00e9s de production, alors que l\u2019installation de nouvelles turbines \u00e0 gaz n\u00e9cessite environ sept ans.<\/li>\n<li>Les batteries au zinc d\u2019Eos Energy, dont le si\u00e8ge se trouve \u00e0 Pittsburgh, pourraient constituer une option int\u00e9ressante pour stabiliser les r\u00e9seaux \u00e9lectriques et alimenter les centres de donn\u00e9es, notamment parce qu\u2019elles peuvent stocker de l\u2019\u00e9nergie pendant une dur\u00e9e allant jusqu\u2019\u00e0 quatorze heures.<\/li>\n<li>Selon Eos Energy, 91 % des mat\u00e9riaux et composants utilis\u00e9s proviennent des \u00c9tats-Unis.
