De financi\u00eble resultaten zijn de op een na beste ooit in de geschiedenis van de Luikse wapenfabrikant, het orderboek is vol voor 2025 en vult zich goed voor 2026 en het bedrijf maakt zich op om een Franse rivaal over te nemen in wat de grootste acquisitie in zijn geschiedenis zal zijn. Al deze goede nieuwsberichten worden nog versterkt door <a href=\"https:\/\/fnbrowninggroup.com\/app\/uploads\/2025\/06\/FR_Communique-de-presse.pdf\">een kapitaalverhoging van 100 miljoen euro<\/a> van de Waalse regio, haar enige aandeelhouder, om een vrij onzekere Europese toekomst in de defensie tegemoet te gaan.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>De financi\u00ebn zijn om te beginnen goed: een omzet van 934 miljoen euro in 2024 (+3% ten opzichte van 2023), met een stijging van 18% in de verkoop voor de FN Herstal alleen (361 miljoen euro), een operationele winst (EBITDA) van 117 miljoen euro, een bedrijfswinst van 21 miljoen euro en een dividend voor de Waalse regio van 20 miljoen euro (voor 166 miljoen euro aan dividenden sinds 2014).<\/p>\n<h2>100 miljoen euro extra<\/h2>\n<p>Al deze goede resultaten hebben ongetwijfeld de Waalse regering nog verder overtuigd om substantieel te investeren in een van de Belgische verdedigingstrotsen, vooral in deze tijd waarin investeringen in defensie sterk moeten worden verhoogd om aan de eisen van de NAVO te voldoen. Het is dan ook geen toeval dat <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wallonie-entreprendre.be\/fr\/\">Wallonie Entreprendre<\/a>, de financi\u00eble arm van de Waalse regio, vorige week een kapitaalverhoging van 100 miljoen euro in FN Browning Group aankondigde.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Walloni\u00eb heeft een echte industri\u00eble ambitie in de defensie&#8221;, benadrukte minister van Economie Pierre-Yves Jeholet, die wees op de noodzaak voor de Luikse wapenfabrikant om zijn gewicht in de defensiesector te laten gelden en een Europese en mondiale leider te zijn.<\/p>\n<p>Nu Europa volop aan het bewapenen is, zullen de 100 miljoen dienen om de toekomst voor te bereiden, evenals het eigen vermogen van FN, met een kaspositie van 258 miljoen euro, en de bankfinancieringen. Aan de kant van Wallonie Entreprendre hoopte CEO Olivier Vanderijst dat de kapitaalverhoging een hefboomeffect op de banken zou kunnen hebben.<\/p>\n<p>Met deze financi\u00eble middelen moet het bedrijf zijn industri\u00eble ontwikkeling kunnen voortzetten, met bonvendien goed gevulde orderboeken voor dit jaar en 2026. &#8220;Wij zijn in staat om in te spelen op de veranderende vraag en onze productiecapaciteit te vergroten. Na 30 jaar van desinvestering in de sector, is er vandaag een echte noodzaak om opnieuw te investeren en dat is een trend die we volgen&#8221;, aldus CEO Julien Comp\u00e8re.<\/p>\n<h2>Uitgesproken ambities<\/h2>\n<p>De Luikse groep blijft groeien en zal binnenkort zijn Franse rivaal Sofisport, wereldleider in de vervaardiging van munitie en hun componenten, inlijven. De gecombineerde omzet zal dan 1,4 miljard euro bedragen en het bedrijf zal in totaal 4.100 personen tewerkstellen, waarvan 1.600 in Belgi\u00eb (in Herstal en Zutendaal).<\/p>\n<p>Dit om zich nog meer te positioneren als een referentie in de wapensector en om aantrekkelijk te zijn voor veel landen, zowel binnen als buiten Europa. FN Browning Group hoopt met name een aanbesteding van het Franse leger binnen te halen om een kleine kaliber munitie-industrie opnieuw op te bouwen. Ze kijken ook naar Duitsland en naar vele andere landen in Azi\u00eb, Zuid-Amerika en het Midden-Oosten. De belofte van Walloni\u00eb om de vergunningverlening voor wapenexport tegen het einde van 2025 te versoepelen, zal zonder twijfel de Luikse groep helpen om zich adequaat op nieuwe markten te positioneren&#8230;.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>FN, of voluit het FN Browning Group, staat er goed voor, dank u.
