{"id":10448,"date":"2025-07-31T17:00:45","date_gmt":"2025-07-31T15:00:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.forbes.be\/nl\/?p=10448"},"modified":"2026-02-24T19:00:12","modified_gmt":"2026-02-24T18:00:12","slug":"de-groene-odyssee-van-eurostar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.forbes.be\/nl\/de-groene-odyssee-van-eurostar\/","title":{"rendered":"De Groene Odyssee van Eurostar"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurostar.com\/be-nl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Eurostar<\/a> herziet zakenreizen in Europa: met zijn treinvloot die al gedeeltelijk op groene energie rijden en zijn doelstelling om tegen 2030 uitsluitend op hernieuwbare energie te rijden, wordt elk ticket de belofte van een betrouwbare verbinding en een vlotte overgang tussen trein en vliegtuig.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><b>Een ge\u00efntegreerd en flexibel aanbod<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Al dertig jaar vormt <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurostar.com\/be-nl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Eurostar<\/a> de ruggengraat van het Europese hogesnelheidsspoor, door het verbinden van stadscentra in Frankrijk, Belgi\u00eb, Nederland, Duitsland en het Verenigd Koninkrijk. De functie &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurostar.com\/be-nl\/reisinformatie\/aansluitende-trein\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Connecting tickets<\/a>&#8221; stelt gebruikers in staat om via \u00e9\u00e9n boeking een Eurostar-segment en een verbinding naar meer dan 100 Franse stations te combineren, met automatische ondersteuning bij gemiste aansluitingen. Deze innovatie versterkt Eurostar&#8217;s inzet om stations om te vormen tot open hubs die meer treinbestemmingen toegankelijk maken. Met 51 treinen op 28 bestemmingen en 19,5 miljoen passagiers in 2024, biedt Eurostar drie verenigde klassen (Standaard, Plus en Premier) met een flexibel naverkoopbeleid via de app. Standaard biedt een centrum-tot-centrum reis met verfrissingen in de bar aan boord, Plus bevat XL-stoelen en werkruimte, Premier garandeert premium comfort, exclusieve lounges en prioriteit bij instappen; dit alles zonder verborgen kosten en met bagagevrijstelling, gratis stoelreserversing, wifi en stopcontacten. Eurostar is van plan 2 miljard euro te investeren in de aankoop van maximaal 50 nieuwe treinen, ontworpen voor gebruik vanaf begin 2030 en om nieuwe directe routes te openen, met het streven om 30 miljoen passagiers per jaar te bereiken tegen 2030 om zijn positie als h\u00e9t duurzame reisalternatief in Europa te versterken.<\/span><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-11128 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.be\/fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/large-a4-london-southwark-district-on-south-bank-of-river-thames-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2560\" height=\"1600\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><b>Op weg naar 100% hernieuwbare energie tegen 2030<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Eurostar heeft de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurostar.com\/be-nl\/duurzaamheid\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">energietransitie<\/a> centraal gesteld in haar strategie door zich aan te sluiten bij de RE100-alliantie. Daarmee is het het eerste spoorwegbedrijf dat zich ertoe verbindt om tegen 2030 100% hernieuwbare elektriciteit aan te kopen. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">De strategie is gebaseerd op directe groene energievoorziening en een protocol met Infrabel om zonne-energieprojecten in Belgi\u00eb te onderzoeken vanaf februari 2024. &#8221; <i>Dit is een bewust ambitieus doel<\/i> &#8220;, benadrukt Gwendoline Cazenave, CEO van Eurostar. <\/span>In het Verenigd Koninkrijk is sinds 2023 40% van alle Eurostar-reizen aangedreven door 100% windenergie, wat de haalbaarheid van een duurzaam spoornetwerk illustreert.<\/p>\n<h2><b>Een unieke lucht-spoorverbinding met SkyTeam<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Op 25 september 2024 hebben <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurostar.com\/be-nl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Eurostar<\/a> en <a href=\"https:\/\/www.skyteam.com\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SkyTeam<\/a> een intentieverklaring ondertekend om klanten een unieke boeking te bieden die vluchten en Eurostar-reizen combineert, terwijl de voordelen van de alliantie behouden blijven (lounges, SkyPriority, loyaliteit). Deze samenwerking is bedoeld om de opties voor centrum-naar-centrum reizen via de hubs van SkyTeam in Amsterdam Schiphol, Parijs-CDG en Londen Heathrow te vermenigvuldigen. &#8220;<i>Het bieden van de meest duurzame en praktische manier voor reizigers om Europa per trein te verkennen, is een essentieel onderdeel van onze visie<\/i>&#8220;, verklaart Gwendoline Cazenave.
