Een steunpilaar van de Belgische beeldende kunst sinds de jaren 70, hij is uitgegroeid tot een zeer actieve curator.<\/strong> Sinds 2024 is <strong>Albert Baronian<\/strong> aan een tweede leven begonnen. In de afgelopen twee decennia breidde zijn <strong>galerij<\/strong> zich uit: van 2002 tot 2012 werd het de <strong>galerij Baronian-Francey<\/strong>, na zijn samenwerking met <strong>Edmond Francey<\/strong>, die zijn carri\u00e8re begon bij <strong>Yvon Lambert<\/strong>, een historische Parijse galerijhouder, en grote tentoonstellingen organiseerde in Londen (&#8220;Picasso, kunstenaar van de eeuw&#8221; en &#8220;Joan Miro, een retrospectief&#8221;). In 2018 werd <strong>Albert Baronian<\/strong> onderscheiden met de Orde van Leopold. Van 2018 tot 2021 ging hij een nieuwe samenwerking aan met een andere historische galerijhouder, <strong>Renos Xippas<\/strong>, onder de naam <strong>Baronian-Xippas<\/strong>, in Brussel en Knokke. Sinds eind 2023 is hij ook een zeer gevraagde curator geworden. In december, voor de heropening van het Centre Wallonie-Bruxelles in Parijs, is hij curator van de tentoonstelling &#8220;H\u00e9r\u00e9tiques&#8221;, waarin vijftien <strong>opkomende kunstenaars<\/strong> van de Frans-Belgische sc\u00e8ne worden samengebracht. In juni 2024, op <strong>Art Basel<\/strong>, de grootste hedendaagse kunstbeurs ter wereld, ontving hij van de Federation of European Art Galleries Associations (FEAGA) de <em>Lifetime Achievement Award<\/em>.<\/p>\n<h2>Na de galerij<\/h2>\n<p>In december 2024 kondigde hij de sluiting van zijn <strong>galerij<\/strong> aan. En toch, op bijna 80-jarige leeftijd, is hij misschien nog nooit zo productief geweest. In september nodigde het Centre d&#8217;Art Bonisson in Rognes, in het zuiden van Frankrijk, hem uit om <strong>kunstenaars<\/strong> te exposeren die hem zijn hele carri\u00e8re bijstonden: Olivier Mosset, Lionel Est\u00e8ve, Charlotte vander Borght en Alain Biltereyst. Deze zomer cureerde hij bij QG (Knokke) &#8220;Tra Terra e Concetto&#8221;, gewijd aan de Arte Povera. Tegelijkertijd organiseerde hij in Parijs, bij <strong>galerijhouder Alexis Lartigue<\/strong>, aan de Avenue Matignon, de tentoonstelling &#8220;Anstractions Crois\u00e9es&#8221;, met twee <em>mid-career<\/em> kunstenaars, de Duitser Max Frintrop en de Belg Jean-Baptiste Bernadet, en een figuur uit de 20e eeuw, Hans Hartung. Begin november opende hij in de CAB Foundation (Saint-Paul de Vence), opgericht door de <strong>Belgische investeerder Hubert Bonnet<\/strong>, een tentoonstelling genaamd &#8220;Convergenties&#8221;, gewijd aan enkele oude en nieuwe figuren van het minimalisme. De nieuwe fase verwelkomend, blik hij terug op twee <strong>kunstenaars<\/strong> die een unieke plaats in zijn carri\u00e8re hebben ingenomen: \u201e<em>Ik zou twee namen onthouden. De oudste <strong>kunstenaar<\/strong> met wie ik werk, die een echte vriend is geworden, is de Italiaan Gilberto Zorio, een van de meesters van de Arte Povera.
