Daarbij werden koelsystemen opgewarmd tot 50 graden Celsius, waardoor voedingsmiddelen verloren gingen. De aanvallen volgen enkele weken nadat honderden Franse supermarkten met soortgelijke incidenten werden geconfronteerd.<\/p>\n<h2>Belangrijkste feiten<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Volgens verschillende berichten zijn minstens tientallen winkels getroffen in Zweden, Nederland, Belgi\u00eb, Ierland, Luxemburg en Estland.<\/li>\n<li>De autoriteiten hebben nog niet vastgesteld wie achter de aanvallen zit. Geen enkele hackersgroep heeft de verantwoordelijkheid opge\u00ebist.<\/li>\n<li>Engla Ingwall, verkoopmanager bij een ICA-supermarkt in Stockholm, verklaarde maandag aan Reuters dat \u201calles vernietigd is\u201d nadat de diepvriezers waren aangevallen en tot 50 graden Celsius waren opgewarmd.<\/li>\n<li>Christophe Hansen, Europees commissaris voor Landbouw, noemde de aanval \u201ceen doelbewuste poging om onze voedselvoorzieningsketen te ontregelen en het vertrouwen van consumenten te ondermijnen\u201d. Volgens hem is \u201cde herhaling van deze cyberaanvallen bijzonder verontrustend\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>Een deel van de maandag getroffen koelsystemen maakte gebruik van dezelfde technologie als de systemen die vorige maand bij Franse supermarkten werden aangevallen: software van het Deense bedrijf Danfoss.<\/li>\n<li>Katrien Eggers, woordvoerder van het Centrum voor Cybersecurity Belgi\u00eb, uitte haar bezorgdheid over het toenemende aantal cyberincidenten. \u201cAlle IT-systemen zijn potentieel kwetsbaar en AI kan nu worden ingezet om die zwakke plekken succesvol uit te buiten, vooral door geavanceerde actoren\u201d, aldus Eggers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Welke supermarkten werden getroffen?<\/h2>\n<p>De cyberaanvallen troffen verschillende supermarktketens in meerdere Europese landen. In Belgi\u00eb en Luxemburg werden onder meer winkels van Ahold Delhaize en Colruyt Group geviseerd. Die laatste meldde vijf getroffen vestigingen. In Ierland werden dertien SuperValu-winkels getroffen, naast vijftien Carrefour-vestigingen in Belgi\u00eb en zeven Coop-supermarkten in Zweden. De Zweedse supermarktgroep ICA verklaarde dat \u201ceen beperkt aantal winkels \u2019s nachts door een incident werd getroffen\u201d.<\/p>\n<h2>Opvallend feit<\/h2>\n<p>Ook minstens \u00e9\u00e9n vestiging van IKEA, de Zweedse meubelketen die bekendstaat om haar gehaktballen en andere voedingsproducten, werd getroffen. Het ging om een winkel in Belgi\u00eb. Een woordvoerder van IKEA liet weten dat de keten \u201cniet kan uitsluiten dat nog andere vestigingen getroffen zijn, aangezien het onderzoek nog loopt\u201d.<\/p>\n<h2>Achtergrond<\/h2>\n<p>De nieuwe cyberaanval volgt enkele weken nadat honderden Franse supermarkten het doelwit werden van een vergelijkbaar incident. Ook daar zijn nog geen daders ge\u00efdentificeerd en heeft niemand de verantwoordelijkheid opge\u00ebist. In oktober werden koelsystemen bij grote supermarktgroepen als Carrefour, Monoprix, Intermarch\u00e9 en Coop\u00e9rative U op vergelijkbare wijze opgewarmd. Daardoor gingen voedingsmiddelen verloren en liep de schade volgens Thierry Cotillard, CEO van Intermarch\u00e9, mogelijk op tot \u201cmiljoenen euro\u2019s\u201d. Les Mousquetaires, het moederbedrijf van Intermarch\u00e9, verwachtte naar eigen zeggen \u201cmeerdere miljoenen euro\u2019s\u201d verlies.<\/p>\n<p>Cybersecurityexperts waarschuwen al langer voor kwetsbaarheden in de technologie van dergelijke koelsystemen. Onderzoekers van cybersecuritybedrijf Claroty wezen in augustus op beveiligingsproblemen in de technologie van Danfoss. Volgens hen heeft het bedrijf die kwetsbaarheden inmiddels via een software-update verholpen.<\/p>\n<p>Het is niet duidelijk of bij de aanval AI werd gebruikt. Bjorn R.
